This is the third of our five-term improvisation course and it's all about character development—who you are. You'll discover how to create an “Instant Who” and consistently maintain the qualities of your character. Players learn to explore and heighten who you are in a scene while supporting fellow players. Characters in our third term have opinions, dreams, and philosophies, and can be one, two or three-dimensional (life-like).
Teacher: Doug Voegtle
Time: Mondays, 6:30PM–9:30PM
This 8-class term begins Monday, February 3, 2020. Students can miss no more than two classes. No refunds once classes begin.
Learning Environment Commitment
Players Workshop is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental learning environment for our students and teachers. If you're doing it right, you'll find out some truths about yourself and the world at large that may surprise you. This can lead to feeling vulnerable, which is why we maintain a safe space for students to work in. We steadfastly believe in creating a space of unconditional and universal acceptance for everyone as they choose to define themselves. However, we will enforce a zero tolerance for exclusionary or threatening behavior (physical or verbal) of any kind.
Basically, be nice. We're all just astronauts on a rock that's floating through space...so be nice!
